5 Easy Ways to Add Exercise To Your Busy Day

When it comes to staying healthy, it is always best to maintain your wellness. It is not always easy to do that, though. Most people today are very busy. You have appointments and things to do with your kids. No matter what is on your schedule, though, it is very important to try to include exercise. It is the best way to maintain your weight, keep your heart working well and reduce your risk of becoming ill. But, how do you make it happen? Check out these five recommendations for adding exercise to your day, even if you are busy.

Socialize While You Workout
When you socialize and workout at the same time, you are more likely to stick to your plan and get fit. For example, if you had the option of going to the gym with a friend or going home to work on the treadmill, you may be more likely to do the first option.

Add Activity to Your Other Tasks
If you have to spend some time running errands, add in a walk around the park on your lunch break. Instead of driving around for the closest parking space, choose one that is further away. This will give you a bit more exercise.

Make Mini Daily Goals
Instead of planning to run an hour every day for the next week, try something shorter and easier to fit into your day. Once you get into the habit of exercising more frequently, you'll be more likely to find the time. At first, you may only have time for a 10-minute run. This can soon become 20 minutes and so on.

Take the Stairs
When you are busy, find ways to take the harder approach to what you are doing. Instead of elevators, take the stairs. Instead of emailing a co-worker on another floor, go to their office. This gives you small amounts of good exercise.

Get Fit at Your Desk
Do you have trouble focusing after lunch? Add a few pushups into your day after a few phone calls. Instead of an office chair, invest in an exercise ball. Get rid of your desk and replace it with a standing desk.

Taking these steps can help you to get in small bursts of activity that are good for you.
